Needs
For young people to play an active role in responding to the needs of society, it is necessary:
N1: Understand, in a comprehensive way, what the main challenges of society are, so that they identify with them and are willing to intervene in them;
N2: Recognize their role in society and the impact they can have in transforming social reality (young people must be brought to the center of the discussion of problems and solutions, stimulating the guiding principle that everyone can and should do their part and we all make a difference);
N3:Acquire and/or improve their key competences in order to be able to intervene, namely through access to non-formal opportunities that invest in their development.
Goals
Main goal:
To encourage youth participation, especially on issues that directly affect young people and society in general.
Specific goals:
-
Bring together European youth practitioners to identify, discuss, co-create and test participatory and socially innovative solutions in the field of youth participation (and which can be replicated, contributing to innovate the sector);
-
Develop young people's key competences (emphasis on fewer opportunities), with a focus on entrepreneurship, ensuring that young people are able to develop and implement their own projects and actions that respond to youth and societal problems;
-
Disseminate and explore the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda among young people, so that young people can act to build a more cohesive, just and sustainable society;
-
Contribute to the valorization of the territory, identifying problems, debating answers and presenting solutions that favor the construction of each community and society in general;
-
Promote European values.
